Q. 52 What hope does everlasting life hold for us?
A. It reminds us that this present fallen world is not all there is; soon we will live with and enjoy God forever in the new city, in the new heaven and the new earth, where we will be fully and forever freed from all sin and will inhabit renewed, resurrection bodies in a renewed, restored creation. Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we give thanks to you with our whole heart; for your steadfast love endures forever. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We look to you today for our needs
and pray for those in our church who have lost their jobs or have been furloughed for a time. Help us to trust in you together and be eager to share with those in need. Lord, in light of this Psalm we ask that you would by your Spirit instill in us a right hatred toward evil. And may it be so even and especially in our own lives as we are tempted to make light of or excuses for our own sins. Along with the Psalmist we ask that you would search our hearts, know our thoughts and lead us in the way of obedience and faith. We thank you for Christ. We thank you that in
him you have cleansed us and made us new. In his name we pray, Amen.
