Q. 49 Where is Christ now?
A. Christ rose bodily from the grave on the third day after his death and is seated at the right hand of the
Father, ruling his kingdom and interceding for us, until he returns to judge and renew the whole world.
[Ephesians 1:20-21, Hebrews 10:11-13, Romans 8:34]

Q. 50 What does Christ’s resurrection mean for us?
A. Christ triumphed over sin and death by being physically resurrected, so that all who trust in him are raised to new life in this world and to everlasting life in the world to come. Just as we will one day be resurrected, so this world will one day be restored. But those who do not trust in Christ will be raised to everlasting death.
[I Thessalonians 4:13-18]

Closing Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the testimony of the Apostles and the Word that you have spoken through them that we might know who Jesus is, what he did for us on the cross and how you raised him up on the third day. We thank you that we have the assurance that the risen Lord Jesus is seated at your right hand and that you have given to him all authority in heaven and on earth. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. He is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. May we find comfort in these truths. We ask that you would help us not to fear death, but to set our hope in Christ, the living one who has power over death. We look forward to his coming, and await the glorious resurrection that you have promised to us in him. All this we pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Amen.
